  1. Dear Kassy,

Happy Belated Military Spouse Appreciation Day! Thank you for the important role you play in keeping our Armed Forces strong and our country safe.

The milspouse blogger community is unlike any other. Each blogger finds their voice by sharing their amazing stories about life: the challenges, triumphs and everything in between. Your blog is such a great example of that milspouse blogger spirit and we especially hope you had a great time on your recent honeymoon!

The reason I’m reaching out is because my team and I launched the Military Family Mental Health campaign in honor of May as Mental Health Month, and I personally want to invite you to participate. You have spoken out about issues close to heart in the past and we hope you’ll join us in raising your voice again to help raise awareness about mental health issues that are so often invisible and stigmatized within the military community.

Full details on the campaign: http://msw.usc.edu/military-social-work/military-family-mental-health-blog-carnival-call-blog-submissions-milfammh/

Here is how to participate in the #MilfamMH campaign:

-Publish a blog post that covers a mental health awareness theme. Mention why raising awareness about this issue matters. Older posts and stories are welcome as long as they are updated to mention and link back to this campaign.
-Include a link back to our #MilfamMH blog campaign description so that your readers can learn how they can raise awareness, too!
-Place the #MilfamMH badge on your post or site using the HTML code provided on our call for submissions page.
-Share your blog post for mental health awareness on Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag #MilfamMH.
-Check out our Military Family Mental Health Roundup starting May 8 to read, engage and follow other bloggers participating in the campaign.
-Take 30 seconds to change your profile picture or cover photo to one of the campaign images (attached) during the month of May to show your support for this important cause!

Want to help promote the Military Family Mental Health campaign? Copy the following text into your blog post to invite your readers to participate:

“I’m raising awareness for Military Family Mental Health by blogging for the #MilfamMH Campaign sponsored by USC’s masters degree in social work program. Join me in blogging for an important cause!”

Mental health impacts the entire military community so no matter what you normally blog about, we want to hear your voice and your story. Thank in advance for helping us to raise awareness!

    All the best,
    Gabriela Acosta
